Calgary's Home, Alberta's the Playground

There are plenty of reasons to love living in Calgary, and it isn't just the city itself that makes it such a great place to call home. The greater Calgary area and indeed the rest of Alberta is easily accessible, and provides a lot of fantastic spots for both quick getaways and longer excursions.

A weekend trip to Edmonton for some theatre viewing and art critiquing, a camping trip on the plains, or a bit of time on a ranch soaking in the history and current industry that makes Alberta great—they're all just a few hours away.

The urban feel of downtown Calgary is something I truly love, and as the cultural centre of our province its constant festivals and other opportunities are unparalleled. Still, convenience to the rest of Alberta is a big part of Calgary's desirability, if you ask me.

So if you ever feel overwhelmed or fed up with the city, just remember—there's a world of adventure just on the other side of Calgary's doorstep, with a little something for everyone. A hike, a drive, a view, a show—whatever you're after, Alberta has it on offer, and Calgary is right at the gate.

Step on through every now and then, and I'll see you on the other side!
